Painter Xiang Qi-jiu
Xiang Qi-jiu was born in Shishui, Shandong in 1941. He came to work in the Jinan painting Academy in 1981. He is now a professor, 2nd level national painter, a senior painter and the director of Creation Studio of Figure Painting of Shandong Painting Academy. He is a master of traditional Chinese Painting and also good at woodcut and Chinese lunar new year painting. His work "troop training playground in wind and snow" and "full of vigour as a tiger" has been exhibited in the national exhibitions of art and won high appreciation. His "Mom's love" was shown in the exhibition of poems, paintings and calligraphings from Taiwan & the Mainland, and received high remark. The China daily published many of his works. He held personal exhibition in Shandong Art Gallary in Sep. 1988. He visited Japan for cultural and art exchange in 1989.
