Painter Xu Yong-Sheng
Xu Yong-Sheng is a Associate
Research Fellow at the Shandong Art Museum, a member of China Brush and
Ink Culture Promotion Committee, and the Secretary-In-General of the
Shandong Young Artists' Association. He was born in Laixi, Shandong in
1959. He studied in Shandong Art college in 1983 and graduated from
Shandong Teachers' University in 1990. He published a illustration
album of "Ancient Chinese Poetry and Songs" in 1990 which was
awarded the 1st prize of the 1st National Good Books for Children. He
published a painting album of Qu-Yuan (an great ancient Chinese poet),
and some were shown in the 8th National Exhibition of Painting in 1994.
He published an album of
"Folklore of Peony" which won a excellent prize of the 93'
National Exhibition of Fine Art. His art achievement is recognized by
the "Who抯 Who in Chinese Literature and Art" in 1996. During
1986-1995, he published more than 10 big-scale picture-books about
ancient Chinese history and literature, such as Liaozhai, Notes of the
History, The Novel of the Three kingdoms, etc..
