 白癜风是一种影响美容的疾病，虽无痛苦，但给患者带来无尽的烦恼。现医学研究证明，白癜风是由于遗传、理化因素伴内分泌疾病免疫功能失调、微量元素利用不良等众多因素导致的黑色素细胞功能丧失致细胞消失所致的。目前尚未发现何种药物及理疗方法对已消失的黑色素细胞的白癜风患者有效，这就同草坪一样，苗不旺盛可以浇水施肥，但种子不存在，再浇水施肥岂能奏效？ 50年代已有移植表皮的方法，但色素产生后却留下疤痕。
90年代山东大学张洪冰教授通过多年的努力，发明了表皮细胞分离机，被列为1994年重点开发项目。利用黑色素细胞植入法治疗15000多例白癜风患者，总有效率达90%以上，对神经节段型及局限型总有效率达100%。其最大特点是：移植细胞七天后有正常色素产生，3个月后可扩大2-3倍，患者无痛苦，不留疤痕。表皮细胞分离机，获中华人民共和国发明实用新型及外观设计专利，它填补了国内空白，达90年代国际领先水平，被称为白癜风治疗研究的重大突破。 同时，我所为更好地配合治疗，开发了新型促黑色素细胞生长的胶囊、片剂、散剂及系列外用制剂，共五个系列，10多个品种，并生产了长波紫外线灯。
《健康报》、《中华皮肤科杂志》、山东电视台均作了详细报道，引起了社会极大关注，成功举办了五届《全国白癜风治疗学习班》，来自全国30个省、市、自治区、部属院校及部队医院等150多家医院的医务人员到会学习。同时收到了众多患者的来电、来函要求治疗。为此，成立了山东大学白癜风研究所专科门诊部。目前山东大学白癜风研究所已经接纳来自全国各地的15000多名患者，为患者解除烦恼，带来福音。
目前，山东大学白癜风研究所是集科研、临床医疗、机器制造、制药为一体的综合性研究所。为了更好地为全世界的白癜风患者治疗。扩大技术，愿与国内外有志之士洽谈合作，共同完善开发，使这一成果向更多的国家和地区推广。

After many years' research and clinic experiments, Professor Zhang, Hong-Bing of Shandong University has invented patented technology to cure this disease.
